WHAT IS PUPPY TRAINING?

Puppy training is simply the foundation to your dog’s development. We acknowledge a puppy by the first 6 months of age it is the best time to teach the dog desirable behaviour, socialization and foundation training. We can help you master perfect training for this specific age.

HOW DO WE TRAIN PUPPIES?

We have mastered a perfect system for training puppies. Whether you are raising a working dog or a family dog our system works for all puppies. Throughout our system you need to understand that puppy training isn’t something that is done through a specific time or session but it is something that you do throughout the whole day you spend with your puppy. If you are new to this or not sure it is essential that you know how to properly guide your puppy throughout these experiences to ensure the puppy learns the right lessons.

Puppy training is broken down to 3 categories:

MANAGEMENT

Puppies have short attention spans, little impulse control, endless curiosity, like to destroy things, potty on the floor and could even possibly injure themselves or ingest something by accident. When you are bringing a new puppy to your home and your life you need a strategy where the puppy is kept in a safe environment during the time of them learning to be a good house dog. Dogs love learning patterns it can be good ones and bad ones so you need good management systems that yields good patterns while avoiding the bad patterns such as separation anxiety, messing in the house, reactivity, and more.

OBEDIENCE

Obedience training done right can save lives especially things like recalls away from possible dangerous outcomes, it can even enhance lives. Our VEIL K9 puppy system we teach the included fundamental behaviours: place command, recalls, heel, crate, sit/down, stay, leave it and even introduce structured play. Doing these correctly the puppy learns training with the handler is fun and rewarding while also learning that some things are not optional and must do them. This puppy foundation training will yield you to make more advanced behaviours easier when they become young adult.

SOCIALIZATION

One of the most misunderstood aspects of puppy training is socialization. Socialization is not making the puppy go through dozen amounts of social interactions doing this will make your dog more anxious about future social interactions and get hyper-aroused, and excited by them. Extreme is NOT productive. There is a middle ground towards teaching the puppy to not be concerned about social interactions with strangers or dogs. Doing this your puppy will learn to be calm, attentive of the handler no matter what behaviours of other dogs are in the environment while not being concerned. We can show you how.
